Men who are clients and shoppers of ours ask us all the time about some of the positive traits we see in men when it comes to getting the attention of women. Or better yet, keeping a woman! I have to say that once you get the girl, you’re on your own after that. But, here’s what we see as positive traits:

Be confident: The self assured guy has got it in spades over the weak-mamby-pamby somebody-help-me guy. I say this in all seriousness as I’ve seen this guy all over the place. This is the guy who needs his girlfriend to dress him and make all the decisions. The conversations I hear about this is enough to make me tap him on the shoulder and say, “seriously, you’ve never bought a pair of jeans before?”

Don’t be a control freak: Women hate this without exception and when you’re not around believe me, they’re talking about this with their friends. Right along with this no-no is the guy who never stops talking about himself. Dull! Boring! Don’t ever do this. The confident man lets the gal find out all on her own how accomplished he is. You don’t need to blather on about it.

Dress like you care: Wear the right shoes with the outfit and keep them in good shape. It’s not hard to care and when the gal sees that you know how to dress for success it’s a huge turn on for her. Keep in mind that with casual styles these days even a pair of worn jeans, great shoes, and layers is a popular trendy look.

Keep them laughing: Every woman I know loves a guy with a sense of humor. If you have a sense of humor you can also laugh at yourself. You’re not perfect and neither is she.
