I traveled north for to Manitowish Waters this weekend leaving on Thursday afternoon right after the weekly meeting which is supposed to take place every Friday morning. The July 4th holiday gave all of us an extra day off. Thanks Jim!

My wife’s parents have a beautiful little lake house that’s been in their family for decades and it was our turn to have it all to ourselves. No phone, no TV, and no Internet access, and it’s been decided to keep it that way on purpose. Although, if you have an iPhone you can still have worldly access but I have to say that I resist using it.

The first thing I pack is this Steve Madden shoe. I live in this shoe and it’s perfect for walking around the little town near by and going out for lunch. I take this shoe everywhere I go if I’m going to be walking around or on my feet for any length of time. Jill’s parents have a little pontoon boat and when we pack up to go around the chain of lakes I bring a sandal and this shoe. That’s it!
